Depends on your part of the world. In Colorado warm rain is almost always accompanied by lightning. Else it is 30-40 degrees F and freezing.

Check out the local Galyans stores.  They may have "bear spray", although I would think it simply has a higher concentration of pepper or cs than the people spray.  You may find that the active ingredients are the same and can use the people spray. [...]
