Where can I get a pink outfit like Kenny Souza?

Categories: running shorts

Question:

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – In the article, he addresses The Look. He said that he didn’t like biking in run shorts because they flapped around on the bike, and he didn’t like running in bike shorts because he felt restricted, so he showed up in a race wearing a Speedo. The next race (he says), ‘half the field’ was wearing Speedos, so he decided to go them one better and ordered a bodybuilding posing suit to race in. Thanks for the answer!  I should have realized the sponsorship angle. Just like Rodman and Agasi etc.

Yeah, I’ve always found it amusing that when Rodman was with the Pistons, (pre-tattoos, bodypiercing and crossdressing) he was a ’solid’ and valuable player, but once he began doing crazy things with his hair and image, he became a ’superstar’ player. Did his stats jump at the same time his hair color changed? I doan theenk so . . . — TriathRon                                      _                                   –    o      ’             –  __o       –    </_ `     ‘         –    <         – __/    /o_         – (()) (())        -  / (ASCII art blatantly plagiarized from TriBaby’s sig . . . )

An interesting question was brought up by Kenny Souza"s racing outfits. I say interesting because I actually ride faster when in my tri-briefs and singlet when compared to my buke shorts and top. I have won our USCF district time trial and have finished top 5 for several years) so you can’t just say it is because I don’t bike. I actually feel like my legs are less constricted. Does anyone share this or does anyone really care.

actually your leg muscles work less while wearing cycling shorts. dupont came out with "power lycra" shorts several years ago and studies that they funded came out that the leg muscles fatigued at a slower rate as compared to regular bike shorts.  with a background of a masters of physical therapy it definitely is plausible- the shorts help reduce a "bowstringing effect"- (bulging muscle) and allows the muscles to work more efficiently.  some tennis players wear forearm bands just below their elbow to help reduce muscle fatigue for the same reason.  I like rideing in running shorts better than bike shorts. If I rode in tri-briefs around here the red necks would have a field day:-) they give me enought trouble with running shorts. Tri-man (G.C.T.) 94,95,96,97,98,99

Hmmm… I’m thinking maybe I should cover myself in temporary tatoos before my next race, and everyone will think I’m a "superstar" triathlete, even though my performance is still very BOP. Vanessa "at least I’m _in_ the pack now" Smith

Anyone know where I can get a pink outift like the one Kenny Souza is wearing in this months Triathlete Magazine?  The pink string bikini bottom and the tube top.  By the way, how come he is wearing swim trunks if he doesn’t swim? Thanks in advance.

Response:

I particularly liked the "Mr. Peanut" outfit.   Now THAT was swanky!

Lets see: 1. He lived in Boulder even though all his training buddies were long gone and the harsh winters were tough on the California native. 2. His marrage became strained for financial reasons 3. He moved into Paula Newby Fraser’s home in Carlesbad 4. He sold his home in Boulder and bought one in Carlesbad     that has now appreciated  160k ("he’s always had a knack for real estate") and he got back together with his family 5. Babbit got him a job with Cliff Bars 6. He was signed up for a swim program at UC San Diego 7. He started High School at 12 and started to train with the triathlon gods  when he was 16. 8. He was getting free shoes and bikes before he even raced 9.  He travels around in a Cliff Bar minivan and hands out candy bars (or "sports bars") to college kids You learn a lot from pictures. Still can’t figure out why he wore a swim suit  to compete in duathlon.  thanks in advance.
