what have i done to my foot?
Question:
Mark – Sounds as if you have a pinched nerve/irritated nerve between the phalange bones in your forefoot. When in full bloom this is known as *Morton’s Neuroma*. But since the onset was so sudden it’s mort likely a raw nerve. Ensure you have Very Good cushioning in the forefoot until it’s abated, and avoid going barefoot on hard (including carpeted ) floors. Also be sure your shoes, running and others, are very roomy in the forefoot. Any pressure tending to pinch the phalange bones together will also seriously delay recovery. Believe me – I know! HTH - Denny A. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – on monday i went for a relatively easy six mile run. felt fine. tuesday morning, when i took my first step, i noticed that the bottom of my left foot felt odd. it was as if there was a lump at the ball of the foot around where the two toes to the left of my big toe are. it’s not soft or mushy, and doesn’t to the eye seem much swollen, and it isn’t even sensitive to the touch much. but when i walk on the foot on a hard floor, i can definitely feel a lump there, and it’s uncomfortable. if i wear tevas or my running shoes, i mostly don’t feel it, no doubt becaue of the cushioning. i took tuesday off from running and stayed more or less off my feet, but it’s still there and doesn’t seem significantly better today, on wednesday. what is this? thanks, mark
