keeping feet warm and dry.
Question:
This will be my first winter of running. I have alerady read plenty about dressing for cold weather running, but what about the feet? How do you keep them warm when snow starts melting through your shoes, or, worse, when you you splash into that unavoidable slush puddle? Are there winter running shoes that have something more that thin nylon covering the toes, and snow treads? What if any spray water repellant will work? Jon
Dear Jon, Have you actually had difficulties with cold feet? I have run, each run being approx 45 to 60 minutes, through 2 winters. Never do I ever recall having cold feet. I guess the constant movement of the feet imply vigorous circulation of warm blood. Doug

Response:
I am running in Norway, and often run in snow, marshes with ice water and "slush puddle". On my feet I use neopren socks in the shoes. These socks are used direct on the foot instead of ordinary socks, are about 4 mm thick and keeps my feet warm and comfortable. Best regards
