Shinsplints…i got 'em, how do i get rid of 'em
Question:
Hi, As a boxer, I skip very heavily for half an hour a day, (roughly 5,000 revolutions), and used to get shin splints all the time. But I figured out a way to manage mine really well, as long as I stick to the routine: With either socks on or off (better off) place your feet flat on the floor with a towel underneath. Then scrunch the Towel towards you with your toes, after about 30 seconds to one minute of this your lower legs will really start to burn, do this 5 to 6 times a day. On top of this put an icy gel pack on the affected area for about 1/2 hour per day. (careful not to give yourself localised frostbite though) I agree with a previous poster in that "Shinsplints" will tend to get better as you excercise, if it gets worse its probably not "Shinsplints" and is something more serious that needs to get looked at by a Doctor immediately. Good Luck, Rob you read the subject….i got shin splints and i got ‘em bad. I any advice on the subject of shin splints.
My shin splints originate just below and to the right of my knee and
shoot straight down to my ankle. It has become almost impossible to
perform any cardio weight bearing activity. Please advise Jeff, Try Dr. Pribut’s site:

I have had a similar experience. It took me three years to get rid of my shin splints and I still can’t run or they will come back. My advice to you is find a good doctor (very hard to do) and don’t trust everything the doctor says. Doctors on average don’t treat shin splints very well. If I had seen a good doctor right away my shin splints would have been cured quickly and I would be running now. Mike you read the subject….i got shin splints and i got ‘em bad. I am a long time sufferer of shin splints, but
they’ve never been this bad–almost crippling. It’s to the point that
running/jogging is out of the question and even fast walking begins to
irritate after only 15 minutes. I wear top-of-the-line running shoes
specifically fitted and designed for my style of running/jogging I have stopped out door running/jogging all
together in favor of the treadmill I any advice on the subject of shin splints.
