Where to get manual for 1976, 26' Titan RV?

Categories: running gear

Question:

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I bought a used 1976 Titan motor home with 48,000 miles on it for a decent price, but there was no owners manual.  Our public librarians had no good ideas on obtaining one.  Has anybody ever solved this problem before?  With an electric generator, a furnace and septic tank, I’d better get some advise on how to operate and maintain it! Thanks, Greg.

Response:

All of the appliances and systems are standard on most RVs.  Check with the appliance manufacturer for data on your particular model of stove, furnace, fridge, water heater, airconditioner and converter. The chassis manufacture can give you information on the engine, transmission and other running gear.  Titan would only give general information on these items.  They just built the box on the chassis and installed the appliances.  Any camper sales or service company should be able to tell you how to use those.  Good luck.

Greg: I bought a used (‘74) Titan about 7 years ago and was facing the same dilemma.  Titan was manufactured by Champion homes and they are no longer making RV’s.  I contacted Champion and they could offer little or no (closer to no) support.  My Titan was on a Dodge chassis and I was able to get owner’s manuals, shop manuals, etc from Chryco.  I contacted each appliance manufacturer and got owner’s manuals for each of these…. fridge, furnace, genset, a/c unit, etc.  All these manufacturers were quite helpful.  The owners manual for the Titan would probably be sketchy at best and I found all I needed to know from the individual appliance mfr’s info. Hope this helps! Mike
