Another gutsy run from Paula Radcliffe, results at http://www.iaaf.org/WHM00/indexframe.asp?Page=/WHM00/Results/byevent.htm Interesting looking at the splits of 20 year old Ubad Fuad of the Yemen, he is listed as a PB of 69 mins !? His splits are unbelievable: 5k 26 mins, 10k 68.20, 15k 1.55.21, Finish 2.55.54 !! Last place and 1 hour 25mins behind the previous runner.
Cool, now I have a 1/2 marathon PB better than a world championship contender… I guess that goes with my swimming PB of better than an olympic competitor

Absolutely – fantastic run by Paula Radcliffe: the first 1/2 she won was the Great North Run a few weeks back, beating her own PB, the course record, setting a new European record, and recording the 5th fastest 1/2 of all time: Tegla Laroupe finished 2nd and must have been about 3/4 mile behind! When interviewed afterwards she was asked about her race plan – she said she’d detailed a plan, but then as soon as the race started she completely ignored it: good to see the elites adopting the same strategy used by us plodders
