Run Run Away

Question:

  Hello!   I was wondering if anybody here has information on trail running in and around the San Diego county area (California).  I quickly tire of roadwork and more often than not can be found pounding the trails of Iron Mountain / Ellie Trail and Penesquitos Canyon. Unfortunately these trails are growing boring.  Is there an on-line list of trail locations in and around the San Diego area?   I’ve been searching, but am not finding much on web side of the ‘net.  Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place?  Any help would be very much appreicated.  Thanks!    -harlan

The local ultra running club in San Diego list a few trails around the area.  Run a search on San Diego Ultra Running Friends and you will find the list.  Also do not forget the Knoble Canyon Trail Head and the Pacific Coast Trail both located in Pine Valley.  I also run the dirt road at the Buckman Springs exit on I-8.  There is a dirt road on both sides of the freeway.  The one on the North side is a 40 min. straight up and the one on the South side is a good climb and then a variety of terrain.
