Run Run Away

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’ve recently heard some gossip about a Princess Diana memorial 10K run through London next summer. Does anyone have information on this? Please advise. Claire It was supposed to have taken place this year but the guy who was organising it must have been living in cloud cuckoo land because he was expecting 20000+ entries whilst charging something like a UKP30-00 entry fee. Needless to say the low take up of entries forced its cancellation. If it is being re-considered for next year hopefully it will be at an entry fee more commensurate for a 10k event.

I’d be surprised if they can do it much cheaper – closing off the streets in London isn’t cheap by any means. Maybe they should take it out of central London – but then I guess it would lose a lot of it’s appeal. — Regards, Barry Running & Stuff: http://homepages.go.com/~barry841
