Jennifer…well, we’re rooting (is that a word?) for you…and hoping those injuries don’t prove to be bad ones.  You’ve obviously been through this many times before and know when an injury means trouble.  Nine more weeks…oh my. You can really do this with a knee pain such as that?  You can tell I have never run a marathon…. Mary

Hey! Why you beatin’ yourself up like that? Seriously, it is *still* not too late to take a full ‘recovery’ week with only a few EASY runs. That way you could attack the 5-6 week high mileage pattern with more confidence. Ozzie seems to have hit all points regarding the ‘discomfort’ (don’t you love it when medical people call pain ‘discomfort’? I recall lying on my back in the E.R. a few years ago, unable to move my left side, overhearing the doctor describe my condition as ‘left side weakness’. anyway…) although, I have to wonder about sitting on a tennis ball. :) I will refrain from reviews of my weekly log, based on the tone of your post. I must say, however, that I found Sun. to be cooler, yet still humid (sounds like a wine… "an amusing little 20 miler, cool, yet dehydrated. A fine finish… ") Good luck, see ya in Hartford! — … tramps like us, Share what you know. Learn what you don’t.

I’m not that beat up:  the toe pain is a chronic thing that’s been around for years as is the hip thing.  As for the black toenail, I regard that as no more than a fashion statement.  Perhaps I can paint them all black, get a tatoo and pierce something and start a Gothe Running Club. Ozzie seems to have hit all points regarding the ‘discomfort’ (don’t you love it when medical people call pain ‘discomfort’?

"Here, this will pinch a little bit." Pinch? I will refrain from reviews of my weekly log, based on the tone of your post. I think I’m still on target (with slight concern to the odd right knee pain). Just working up to 20 miles LSD in 2 weeks. Interesting wine analogy, but a 20 miler is more of a cheap Bordeax: full bodied, best enjoyed slowly and possibly some dregs at the finish.  Hardly amusing. Jennifer – no discomfort no gain (hey wait; that doesn’t rhyme…rain, Maine, Spain, Rogaine?)

Keep it up Jennifer :-) Kanga/Jenny
