Can anyone tell me about cross country in the Dallas/Irving area? I was trying to access the CCCD website but could not and theirs is the only one that comes up on a general search. Thanks, Michael

I’ll be joining it this next month.  What I’ve found out so far is that with your $20 membership, you get 9-10 free runs out at White Rock Lake. Try www.cccd.org on an internet explorer browser. For some reason it works better than Netscape. It’s really not a cross country club, it is Dallas’ largest and oldest running club. They have a club run once a week that is free to members. There are only a handful of cross country races each year in the DFW area. Their website has by far the best race calender for DFW. later, dc

Go to www.cccd.org as others have said–click link and it will take you to most of the running sites–Grapevine Runners is near Irving and they do a lot of cross country training at the Lake.  Most of the trail running is on long distance though.  Huntsville State Park in Huntsville Tx is where the really biggies take place.
