Pain in Foot

Categories: nike running

Question:

I have this pain in my foot that I can’t seem to get to go away.  It started in November with a pain that was in the middle of my for foot.  When I bend my toes I can feel something cracking.  I think it is a tendon and the feeling goes up to the outside of my ankle.  I took off a month and returned to running.  I did not have a problem w/ that until about a month later when it started again.  I promptly stopped for a month, and then started again. I was ok for about a week, and was only doing 2:00 quarter repeats, 5 a day. I have orthodics and my shoes are the new nike triax structure and have not begun to break down yet.  Anyone have any suggestions.  Rest is not an option.

Response:

First of all, rest should never be an option for anything less than a broken bone.  And even then you could probably do pool running or biking or something depending on what’s broken and how severely. If you can stand it run through the pain.  It’s probably tendonitis or something and will eventually go away – maybe.  Try different shoes if you can and make an appointment with your orthopedic doctor to make sure the orthotics aren’t causing it somehow.  Actually, the structures sometimes do that to my feet when I first begin running in them.  I think it’s because I tie them too tightly and the top of the shoes presses to hard on the middle of my foot.  It usually stops once the shoes have become loosened up a little. -jeff – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I have this pain in my foot that I can’t seem to get to go away.
