Looking for suggestion for wrist watches to keep laps memory
Question:
I have the Nike Triax 300-The benefits are big numbers, both split times and cumulative times are always displayed, and you can really store alot of split times. It is pricey but worth it in my book. I have the Timex FLIX watch. Everything with it is great, except one major problem thing. The split times are so small, it’s difficult to see. It is especially difficult during the mental and physical stress of running intervals. It’s also difficult to see if you’re running during sunrise or sunset.
I agree about the difficulty of reading the watch while doing intervals, no matter what the size of the numbers. Instead I use the timer function to set the target time (or mabe a little faster) and go by the beeps. If I set the timer a little faster than the target I can still press the stop button to get the actual time in storage for later. It works for me. Is there another watch out there that is as as good or better than the Nike? Or should I just buy the Nike watch and get some mental therapy along with it? -Phil I was pretty happy with my Triax for a month – before it broke – the backlight came on and wouldn’t go off – discharged the battery and then conked out. Not good, IMO – especially since a Casio half of the price lasted more than a decade. Jeremy Before you buy.

I wear a Freestyle Predator with a 75-lap memory (although I think more recent models go up to 100 laps). It also has other features (such as countdown & repeat that I use. Cordially, John

My favorite is the Casio Ironman. I’m on my third watch in 12 years and I lost one. I haven’t tried other watches, but I really like this one. I would like a Tag Heuer, but the one I want is over $500. I ‘ve used the Nike 250 lap model for about a year. It has big numbers I can see in the dark without my bifocals. This year’s model has 300 lap memory, which is enough to store a bunch of runs. The Timex is much more reasonable, pricewise, and will last until you get tired of it. Sandy

Indy and I both use the Timex IRONMAN Triathlon that stores 100 laps or multiple races at a price of about $45. The only catch being that for every race or segment, as it is called on the watch, one lap of memory is needed. In other words you could store 4 20 lap races but then the last one could only be 15. At least that has been my experience. Roger
