Any thoughts on the best mail-order house for running shoes?

Holabird, in MD.  $3.40 shipping charge per order, no matter how many pairs you get.  Good Service, no 800 number, rock bottom prices.  They sell Nike’s at a discount; many don’t. David F. Monti, NYC

I’ve been using Roadrunner for years.  They weren’t the cheapest, but they’d match the best price.  Now Roadrunner no longer matches prices, and I can actually get better prices and full service from the local retail store.  I’ve also used California Best, and have no complaints.  They still match prices, but aren’t usually the cheapest, so I must do my homework. I have been wearing Saucony Shadow 6000s for a long time, and buy most of my shoes mail-order.  When my current model is discontinued, I go to the local retailer so I can try out several shoes and then buy one pair from them. I would recommend Holobird Sports in Baltimore, MD. They are open from 10-6 Eastern Time, but have clearly the best prices across the board. Sorry I don’t have their phone number, but it is in the (410) area code and is located on Yellow Brick lane in an industrial park of some sort. Air Max, for instance, was $89 a while back.
