Different shoes for LSD runs?

Categories: nike running shoes

Question:

,I’ve just started increasing the length of my weekend distance run from around 12 miles and hope to get it up to around 20 in the next few months. At the moment I wear a pair of Nike Air Zoom Drives which essentially fall into the "Performance training" catagory of footwear. I was wondering if it would be wiser for me to buy another pair of running shoes that would be suited to longer distances? I’m 12st and have no over/under pronation problems. I’ve had trouble with my IT band, but thanks to you lot I’v e hopefully seen the back of that (fingers crossed). Response:

I like to have a reserved pair of shoes that I do my long runs in. I’ll run occasional shorter runs but every long run in these shoes. It is always best to have multiple pair of shoes to run in. They will last longer and it is better for your body too.
