i can't belive what exercise tape did!
Question:
I am very (VERY) happy today. A few months ago when I started my weightloss program, I used to walk moderately, yet get tired fast. My bf encouraged me to try jogging, but i just couldn’t! Then I got these exercise tapes, and started doing them. It has been about 2 months or so, i think, since i started doing them, and I worked myself up from the instructional, to the basic, to the advanced. Yesterday afternoon I was sitting watching tv when all the sudden some little voice in my head woke me up saying "hey, what the heck (it used another word,
) are you doing sitting here, get off your behind, put on your work out clothes and go out there for a walk/// I did it. I got into my work out outfit, and started walking… and all the sudden i said to myself "you know, I feel a lot lighter even tought i have been stock on the same weight… i think i can jog! at first I was a little shy, thinking, I can’t jog, I have never jogged… and there are people watching! well, guess what… my fitness level has improved to a point where i jogged most of the time, and when I had to stop I kept walking ’till I catched my breath… and then jogged again… i am so happy… and honestly… I ought this to my effort, those videos, and asd! Now, i am trying to jog more often to see if shaking my fat will make it drop on the paviment…lol… maybe the problem is that it doesn’t know where to go to..! Lourdes

LC, That’s great. I’ve just recently started jogging too (about 3 weeks ago). I feel great. I need to get better shoes though, I’m worried about my feet and joints. What kind of running sneakers/shoes do you use? –zan

Hey Julie: Now that you mentioned school, please do not make the same mistake my bf and i did. We gained weight the last year in school, with the senior design and all the stress…
noooooooooo *she howls* not s-s-senior d-d-d-design!!!!! i won’t be looking forward to that for atleast another term-fortunately-this is just first term junior classes, i know, not much better…sheer hell from what i’ve been told. i’m trying not to get scared, and i think i’m doing ok so far, i’m not overwhelmed yet…..*grin* we’ll see how it goes. we found it difficult to exercise and keep up with school at the same time… if I only knew then what i know now!
i’m trying not to do that, i’m 20 minutes late on leaving for my workout already, but i’ve been drinking my water (my first liter for the day, ugh and it’s so late in the day already….this juggling time is going to take a bit to get used to). i’m determined to get to the gym today, TOM and all. eating better and exercising would have made school a lot easier, because i feel better now, and i now know exercise relieves the stress…
yeah i made my first mistake last night with having pancakes for dinner (i know i’m repeating myself through this group…sorry to all that are sick of hearing about dinner last night) and after dinner i had a talk with myself and my husband, so we brought out the weekly dinner schedule plan that we had when we were both working (i was on co-op) to bite that problem in the butt. i’m still eating the way i have been, again it’s day 2 only of school, but i got a "lunchbox" so when i’m at school i don’t have to fight myself over what i’m eating……it’s less to worry about too seeing as what the cafeteria offers isn’t exactly healthy. ok? i am watching ya!lol

I have a pair of new balance. i went to foot locker and asked for help… they can help you distinguish between running shoes and the others… I think this new balance snickers are one of the best shoes I have had in a long time… On the other hand, i hear Just fo feet have better prices, you might want to check that out… Lourdes

Wow Lourdes … that IS impressive! I can walk fast, and do an hour on my elliptical trainer, but when I try to jog I feel like I’m going to die after about 2 laps (which is only 2/13 of a mile). Very cool! My wife and I have been walking a couple miles every day for the past couple weeks and I’m hoping I can soon get to the point where I can jog short distances — but I think I still might flop too much at this point.
