Question:

Hello all, I want to inform about the PowerSkip boots which provide a very quick running and jumps of about 6 feet height. You can use it for marathon running as well as for short distances, but you will need half the time in any case. At our webpage: www.powerskip.com it is explained in detail, have a look. Alexander

Response:

WOW!  I can run a marathon in 1:20…neat… Just as I was about to mercilessly make fun of these shoes, when I saw a video for them and they actually look pretty cool.  Why (besides greed and free advertising) this guy decided to advertise them on rec.running I don’t know. Of course, I doubt if I’ll be buying any soon.  They cost like 900 Euros which at one time was equivalent to $900 although there is probably a more favorable conversion rate now.  Let me weigh the odds – bounce up and down and spend my yearly income – or – go over to the neighbors trampoline and keep my money.  hmm… -jeff – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hello all, I want to inform about the PowerSkip boots which provide a very quick running and jumps of about 6 feet height. Anyone remember the climactic basketball scene in the original FLUBBER?   – Mike Hello all, I want to inform about the PowerSkip boots which provide a very quick running and jumps of about 6 feet height. I tried something similar to these at a mall in San Diego. They were about $200 and looked like ski boots with big leaf springs on them. So you couldn’t get the height that these PowerSkip folks were getting. About falling on your butt/head. With these huge boots on, you’re so bottom heavy that it’s very hard to get your legs up high enough to do that. If you lift up both legs in the same direction, gravity will pull your legs down. You might do a face plant, but it’s harder than it looks (or, conversely, these things are easier than they look). Anyway, if I had $200 and space in the utility closet left, I’d have gotten them. Karen ps. They did make my PCL-injured knee a bit sore afterwards. I don’t think all that downward tension without my knee brace (I was mall-shopping) was a good thing. I get the same pain when I’m on the ski lift, if I don’t brace my left foot against my right foot or leg rest.
