Nike Triax Air Structures PROBLEM!
Question:
I had a pair of Air Structure Triax and put in excess of 700 miles on them before giving them a deserved retirement. No problems and a great shoe by my judgement. How do you know if your airsole has failed anyway?
Response:
I had some (at least 3 pair) Nike Air Analogs, loved them, but blew out the bladder before the shoe was worn out on every single pair. IMO Nike has not been a reliable company to buy shoes from. They keem introducing new styles while doing away with tried and true favorites. The styles they *do* keep will change without notice. And yes they POP! It has been so frustrating using their shoes that I’ve stopped. Too bad cause they often fit me better than other brands. — – Laura
Response:
I have owned six pairs of triax structures and two pairs of triax skylons and have not had a problem with any blown air bladders. I run over 100 miles a week and run on grass, asphalt and concrete with no problems. I suggest that you ask your local running store to get you in touch with the local Nike tech rep to look into your problem, I’m sure that they would be more than willing to help you in any way they can. How many miles are you putting on a pair of shoes and what surfaces are you running on, all these factors will affect the shoes that you wear. I hope that you are able to get help to resolve this problem, if you need help, E-mail me and I will get in touch with some people that I know who may be able to answer your questions about your shoes. Response:
I’ve had five pair of these shoes and did experience this problem once but it was after I had retired them from running-a little over 400 miles.

I’ve just blown out an air pocket (bladder or whatever they are called) on my second pair of Nike Triax Air Structures. The first pair lasted 200 miles (about a 1 1/2 months) while the second pair lasted 10 days. [...] Has anyone else had a similar problem with this shoe? The running store [...] seemed to be smaller…maybe there is something to this bad lot?
I’ve gone thru about 5 pairs of the Air Structure Triax in the past year and haven’t had a single problem with them. I have been getting about 600-800 miles out of each pair before the cushioning is shot. Try buying them from a different store and see if you have better luck. I _very_ happy. — + Software Engineer Premenos Corporation +

I’ve just blown out an air pocket (bladder or whatever they are called) on my second pair of Nike Triax Air Structures. The first pair lasted 200 miles (about a 1 1/2 months) while the second pair lasted 10 days. In both cases, the puncture occurred in the white part of the sole. On the first pair, the air pocket under the heal blew, on the second pair one up under the front part of shoe went. Has anyone else had a similar problem with this shoe? The running store I bought them at was good about the whole thing, letting me get a new pair the first time and then letting me get a pair of Asics Gel MC the second time. The fellow at the shoe store the second time said that both pair may well have been part of a "bad lot". B.S. or a possibility? I also noticed that the second pair, though the same size as the first, seemed to be smaller…maybe there is something to this bad lot? I liked the shoes quite a bit but after the second blowout, I decided that I can’t afford to be running off to the shoe store every other week.
Response:
I have Two pairs of Nike Triax Air Structures. I put on about 65-70 miles per week. One pair has 400 miles and no problems. The other pair has 500 miles and no problem.
Response:
I hope there isn’t a bad lot!!! I just switched to Nike Air Structure – Triax and have had no problems so far. I only have about 75 miles on them though. So far I really like them…they give me the cushioning I like and the support I need. If I have a problem down the road I’ll let you know. Good luck. Rosanne
