Need running shoes

Categories: asics running shoes

Question:

I just got rid of a pair of basically unused Saucony Jazz 4000s because they were too small.  I need new running shoes, and I don’t want to pay more than $50.   I tend to walk, slightly, on the outside of my feet, and I think I land hard on my heel.  I hate Nikes in general.  All of the online help I’ve read seems to point me to "cushioning" over stability or the other general categories running shoes tend to be in.  I’m looking for advice not only on shoes, but on where to get them if there is a place on the web. I also recently read something about curved vs. straight shoes – I know nothing about what to look for. I was interested in the Jazz 3000s, which are still sold by one and only one retailer (according to Saucony), but they are over $50 plus I’d have to pay shipping, and for some reason I can’t seem to bring myself to spend that for them.  Maybe because they are an older design. In general, HELP!  Any advice would be appreciated.  I’m all hot and bothered to start running again but I’ve no shoes! Thanks. — Free audio & video emails, greeting cards and forums Talkway – http://www.talkway.com – Talk more ways (sm)

Asics are by far the most popular long distance running shoe. They are my favouite too. Ask around.

Thanks.  I just ordered a pair of Asics!  I got the Gel-140s because I found them for $50.  Maybe I’ll spend more later after I’ve got a few miles behind me. Thanks for the reply.  I’m glad you didn’t say avoid Asics at all costs. — Free audio & video emails, greeting cards and forums Talkway – http://www.talkway.com – Talk more ways (sm)
