My Shoes Are Killing Me!

Categories: asics running shoes

Question:

Where are your heels bleeding?  if it’s in the back, along the achilles tendon, try to find a pair of shoes that don’t have as deep a heel cup. Hey, you’ve only tried one type of shoe – there are many more.  Go to a good running store for help in finding a proper fit. You might also try double layered socks, which work well for me. —    http://www.tiac.net/users/rcharbon/ PC support for your business or in your home

I really like my Nike shoes.  Am wondering if you other runners have a suggestion or advice about breaking in the shoes so my heels won’t bleed, even with the athletic tape.  Are my shoes all wrong?  Is so, any suggestions for a different brand name?   Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!   Thanks!

Hi Nancey. The pain caused by your shoes is nothing compared to the pain caused by an irrate gorilla beating you upside the head. Hope this helps. RR

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I invested in a good treadmill a couple of months ago, paid about $2,000 for the thing, and have been totally happy with my Precor treadmill. Wisconsin weather is harsh, so I prefer working out in my home. The problem is my shoes!  I can live with the sore muscles, no problem, but I can’t seem to get a pair of shoes that don’t rip up my feet. I use my old Spalding shoes sometimes (bad arch support), and end up with huge water blisters on the sides of my toes each time.  I invested in a quality pair of Nike shoes that are just for walking/running.  They felt great in the store, but now my heels are raw and bleeding.  I have been going through athletic tape like it’s going out of style! nancy,,,, quality shoes should not cause the problems you are talking about.  go to a good running store that is recommended by some running club members.  the store should be able to recommend a quality pair of running shoes.  another important item is quality socks.  they will be able to recommend this also.  i use Thorlos, they are great in preventing blisters.  be sure to bring them with you when you try on shoes.  they are very thick socks.   alot of the ladies i run with swear by the shoe brand Saucony.  i am an asics gt-2020 fan.   good luck,,, kemosabe

The Nike Air Max is made of polyurethane, which is harder than EVA. Therefore, if a gorilla manages to get hold of an Air Max and hit you over the head with it, it will cause more pain than an EVA shoe would. If I were you, I’d switch to nice soft Asics 2020s. They are EVA and if a gorilla were to hit you over the head with one of them, it would be far less painful than the brick-like Air Max shoes.
