to make a razor-sharp and too tall achilles "notch" to chew on your ankles

while you hemmorhage your way home from the park in them.

A-a-men!! Forgot to mentiong raw skin on then TOP of toes from lumpy bits INSIDE the toe box! Denny

I have a pair of New Balance Couch Sitters. Problem is, I have to change into my Nike Do the Dishes 8000s whenever I get up to go to the kitchen. Oh! So Nikes DO have a purpose.    -Phil

Re: Supernova: –On Thursday, November 11, 1999, 10:51 AM -0600 Owen McCall That’s why I just bought three pair.  The new model will have only an altered upper;  they left the mid/outsole alone.  In the Spring a new "companion" model, the "Supernova Plus" will arrive.  It will be a bit lighter and not have the common cut away midfoot – outsole will contact ground from toe to heel.  It will supposedly offer a bit more stability than the regular Supernova.  At least that’s what I’ve heard.

Thank goodness!  I’ve got two pairs purchased this summer that are still going strong, but it’s good to know that when it’s time for another bulk purchase, I can count on getting almost the same shoe (I find the Supernova to be just the right amount of stability and won’t opt for the plus). Thanks for the news.

Finally I own some real running shoes .. a couple of pair of Asics 2010s … and love them.   They feel much better right out of the box than the 2040s I tried on in the stores.  (Got the 2010s from Roadrunner Sports) Now the quesiton … when I can, I use the 2010s only for running but would I be abusing the running shoes by also wearing them while playing tennis or bike riding?   There are times when two or three of those activities are going to be crammed into a relatively short period of time when I can only wear one particular pair of shoes. Any comments? Kasper

You probably would not be abusing the shoes, only yourself. I definitely would not wear running shoes while playing tennis. Running shoes are made for straight ahead movement, while tennis shoes are made for lateral motion. Wearing the  Asics while playing tennis could increase the risk of injury, such as a twisted ankle, or simply from the extra pressure on the lower leg from a non supportive shoe. That’s just my opinion, or have the shoe companies suckered me into buying a shoe for every aspect of my life? These Adidas web surfing shoes sure are comfy though.    -Phil

Then Phil said: You probably would not be abusing the shoes, only yourself. I definitely would not wear running shoes while playing tennis. Running shoes are made for straight ahead movement, while tennis shoes are made for lateral motion.

And don’t wear your running shoes for lifting weights. Bad for the shoes — extra weight. Bad for you — less support. And I guess you know not to go "the other way." I have a pair of New Balance walking shoes, for example. I really like them, except that I tried to run in them once. That was *once.* Ouch. (They are less flexible.)
